Christmas for the Birds

Join us for the 5th annual Christmas for the Birds. It's a chance to remember our feathered friends during the holidays.

Please bring apples, oranges, pine cones, dried corn, pop corn, cranberries, and of course, bird seed. Or just bring yourself and the children to share the joy of creating and giving gifts at Christmas. Cider and cookies will be served and story time will be held at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, and 1:30.

We've added another feature: We invite you to bring canned or dried food to donate for our 4 legged friends (dog and cats) to be given to the local pet adoptions centers. We want to remember all of our non-human friends this year!

Here is a bit of video from last year's event:

My family took this wonderful God given Sunday to spend sometime together and take some beautiful family pictures at the Living History Park. That is when our beautiful day turned into something I have NEVER encountered in North Augusta. Lynn Thompson made it very obvious that our presence was not welcomed. I have never been treated so ill-mannered. She should be ashamed of her unprofessionalism.

Sorry that your Sunday did not turn out for you. Perhaps you with your son( whom I asked earlier to not run in the flower beds) that enjoyed breaking and standing on plants might want to join the volunteer garden keepers that meet every Wednesday morning (hot or cold)at 8:30 to clean, nurse and take care of plants so that others that appreciate nature might enjoy the garden.

Lynn, I would suggest that you volunteer to take a course on public relations. It was your mannerism that shocked my family. We all do want to respect the wonderful habitat of the park. But your unprofessionalism started BEFORE the plant stepping situation. Again, I personally came to you and apoligized for my newphew stepping outside the path. I also told you and your staff member that I know everyone works so hard to keep the grounds beautiful. However, you and I both know how you conducted yourself today.

Lynn, from the mother of the young boys you felt the need to get onto, I thank my sister for stepping in. The ugly stares from you while we where trying to take our family pictures was EXTREMELY rude. Thanks for the attitude on this beautiful day. The nasty stares came long before you felt the need to get onto my children who could not see a path due to all the leaves on the ground. People who come visit the park should not have to feel like they are being stared at and made to feel like taking family photos is a crime.
